Allan Mortensen, Managing Director, Food Security

Allan Mortensen is the Managing Director for Vestergaard’s Food Security organisation which seeks to increase the income of small and medium holder farmers in developing countries by introducing and taking to scale innovative tools to reduce post-harvest losses and reduce pesticide inputs. Allan joined Vestergaard in 2002 and opened the West Africa Public Health Business, out of the Ghana office. With a passion for business development, Allan has set up business activities in Papua New Guinea, Australia, Ghana, Nigeria and Mongolia. Before setting up a new business model for the food security business, he has developed and implemented new business models for Vestergaard’s malaria prevention and clean water activities.

Allan has a MA in International Business, Language and Culture from the University of Southern Denmark.
