About

The mission of the Product Formulation Scientist is to innovate and optimize formulations that enhance the effectiveness and safety of products targeting public health and agricultural applications. By leveraging scientific expertise and collaborating across teams, the role aims to develop groundbreaking solutions that protect communities from pests, support global health initiatives, and drive the commercialization of advanced products. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the company’s strategic vision by delivering high-quality formulations that meet regulatory standards and address critical market needs.

The role is based in North Carolina, USA and will report directly to the Head of Research & Development, Public Health.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying new active ingredients for strategic application areas, including public health initiatives such as LLIN, repellents, attract-and-kill strategies, and traps.
  • Develop and optimize formulations for active ingredients used in LLIN, repellent products and other public health applications.
  • Design agricultural chemical formulations for targeted applications.
  • Manage processes such as surface treatment, blending, and milling to achieve desired formulation characteristics.
  • Conduct laboratory tests on formulated active ingredients to evaluate efficacy against target pests in alignment with the company’s strategic application areas.
  • Collaborate with external partners to conduct lab and semi-field tests, ensuring the performance of formulations.

Qualification & Experience

  • MS or BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant industrial experience in formulation development, experience in repellent formulation is a plus
  • Experience in material and formulation sustainability is strongly desired
  • Residence in Research Triangle Area of North Carolina USA is desired (no relocation offered)
  • Strong knowledge of formulation techniques and processes.
  • Experience with lab testing and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and procedures.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

    ABOUT THE JOB

    The Senior Data Analysis, Insight and Visualisation Scientist will drive impactful data insights to support global malaria control. Lead the creation of compelling visuals and analytics that showcase the performance of PermaNet® products. Manage databases, perform robust quantitative analysis, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver data-driven solutions. Help shape decision-making and product development through innovative data visualization in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

    This role is based remotely (needs to be able to work EU/EAT hours) or based in Kenya, and will report directly to the Acting Director of Market Development & Access Public Health. 

    Main responsibilities:

    • Lead the creation and editing of impactful visual content including maps, charts, and graphs.
    • Manage end-to-end analytics projects, from data collection to evaluation, supporting PermaNet® products.
    • Transform complex data sets into clear, compelling visuals to inform decision-making.
    • Develop, maintain and optimize database systems and dashboards for vector control and PermaNet® product performance insights, including IR Mapper.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to support data-driven reports, briefs, and communications.
    • Stay ahead of trends by engaging with external partners and academic institutions.
    • Foster a collaborative, fast-paced team culture focused on delivering high-impact results.
    • Work as part of a diverse technical team to support all aspects of product development, including post-market

    Qualification & Experience

    • Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
    • Excellent visual skills, including a firm understanding of design to enable effective dialogue with other departments
    • Expertise in several statistical analysis packages including but not limited to Python, R, SQL, GraphPad, Stata and Excel. 
    • Working knowledge of charting and other data visualisation techniques such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Willingness to learn new software as needed
    • Experience in relevant global health topics including vector control, randomised control trials, clinical trials analysis
    • Creative vision, and passion for learning and willingness to adopt and share new ideas
    • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines

      ABOUT THE JOB

      The Technical Programme Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programmes. This role requires a technical understanding of vector control tools, experience of project management within a manufacturing and/or global health context, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve project goals.

      This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and will report directly to the Acting Director of Market Development & Access Public Health.

      Main responsibilities:

      • Define programme objectives, scope, and deliverables, and create detailed plans with timelines and milestones.
      • Collaborate with teams and partners on development of Gantt charts, risk registers, and project documents, including statements of work and contracts, to ensure successful project delivery.
      • Track budgets and optimize resources across projects.
      • Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication among stakeholders.
      • Manage and provide technical leadership to aspects of programme activities, including the development of vector control products.
      • Provide technical support, draft proposals, review data, and assist in strengthening team capacity.
      • Manage external scientific studies and oversee project implementation, including budget management for lab and field trials.

      Qualification & Experience

      • Undergraduate and postgraduate in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience
      • Proven commitment to continuous professional development
      • Strong understanding of project management strategies and the project lifecycle.
      • Proven track record and demonstrable experience of successfully delivering complex technical programmes in tropical global health/vector control.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
      • Experience of benchmarking, identifying and analyzing measures and monitoring success of activities
      • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
      • Strong background of finance, budget monitoring and forecasting
      • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Wrike and Excel).
      • Proven commitment to capacity strengthening
      • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
