PermaNet® 3.0

The first net to fight insecticide resistance

Rising resistance to standard pyrethroid insecticide threatens malaria control gains. PermaNet 3.0 was developed to boost deltamethrin efficacy by adding a synergist called piperonyl butoxide (PBO).

Key features of PermaNet 3.0

  • Backed by 10 years of research, PermaNet 3.0 technology ensures bioavailability of PBO and deltamethrin on the fabric surface over its 3-year lifespan

  • Studies showed the addition of PBO resulted in a 20% greater reduction in malaria cases compared with standard pyrethroid-only nets

  • PermaNet 3.0 was prequalified by the World Health Organization in January 2018 (converted from WHOPES)
